President
National Third Party Administrator is looking for a player/coach type leader to be the hands-on example as they bring this well run operation forward. The role is open due to retirement and has been well run for a number of years. This is a privately held organization.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Analyze claim data including payments and reserving trends
- Create comprehensive management reports by being able to review, evaluate and respond to
in-depth financial data
· Communicate all claim information to expedite claim transactions in a fashion
understandable and acceptable reinsurance companies
· Evaluate and make proper decisions on complex claim and coverage issues
· Provide hands-on delivery of claim skills including the accumulation of facts, case reserve
amount determinations, and case negotiations
· Use an analytical approach to problem solving using strong technical skills and knowledge
· Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining
objectives and review objectives and plans on a regular basis
· Anticipate and respond to claim and management concerns of senior and peer executives
· Interface with CEO to revise plans in accordance with current business conditions
· Analyze claim data including payment and reserving trends
· Direct and coordinate promotion of products or services performed to develop new markets,
increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in the industry
· Develop quantifiable claim technical metrics to oversee and manage direct reporting staff
· Identify needs and arrange training and coaching to improve claim technical competencies of
staff
· Analyze department budget to identify in which areas reductions can be made and most
efficient use of resources
· Maintain client relationships and continue to identify needs, solutions and opportunities for
additional products and services which support client goals
· Conduct effective sales presentations
· Perform special projects as assigned
Requirements:
· 15 years W/C and Casualty claim handling
· Strong management background. 5-7 years senior level management required
Possess exceptional business acumen (understanding general business principles, finance,
accounting, staffing and marketing strategies)
· Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
· Experience and inclination to provide a hands-on supervisory approach to direct subordinates
in order to obtain the best results on individual claims
· Experience in medium sized office environments
· Ability to shift priorities as needed to meet company initiatives
· 4 year College degree required
· Advanced degree REQUIRED, preferably an MBA
· Professional designations a plus; CPCU preferred
