Title: Pr Electrical Engineer Location: Iowa-Cedar Rapids, IA This Electrical Engineer will be a member of the Legacy Hardware Development and Support . This position is for a Hardware Engineer to support Legacy Flight Control and Avionics Control and Customer Entertainment products. Avionics Line Replaceable Units and Panels are used across Commercial Systems in a variety of applications. These Avionics systems include Adaptive Flight Displays, Surveillance, Navigation, Communication, and Electronic Flight Control applications.
The selected candidate will be supporting new development as well as support of existing systems. Experinece in board level design and layout, requirements capture, verification, and testing in order to satisfy Air Transport and Business & Regional market requirements. This position offers the opportunity to expand knowledge and skills of all phases of project engineering, design, test/verification, integration, factory transition and customer interface. The applicant should possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, as close integration with other team members is a must. The applicant should have the ability to balance cost, schedule and performance goals throughout a product design life cycle. You will gain experience with low cost design, requirements validation and verification, project planning, and multi-discipline team leadership.
This person must be a self-starter, be able to handle unexpected events, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results that exceed expectations. This individual must be able to communicate with employees at all levels in the organization, and must have excellent problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills.
The ideal candidate would have the following demonstrated skills and experience: . Must have effective oral and written technical communication skills, as well as good interpersonal and small team skills . Possess some experince in Hardware development experience within a company . Experience in project engineering/management skills, such as team and project estimating, tracking and reporting, leadership and performing to a schedule and cost plan
Additionally, the successful candidate would also possess the following attributes: . Be highly motivated, take initiative, look for new product/process ideas, have a passion to win, and be very flexible . Experience in capturing, analyzing and implementing hardware requirements . Ability to network within the organization to find the needed information . Full Hardware development life cycle experience, ideally for Rockwell Collins Technical Consistent Process (TCP) and RTCA (Requirements and Technical Concepts for Aviation) DO-254 This position may involve occasional domestic travel. Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering or science field, and ten years of related experience, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree, sixteen years of related experience.
