Description: General Statement of Responsibilities:
First-line supervisor responsible for hourly production employees in designated area(s). Dutes include coordinating manpower requirements, maintaining quality within established specifications, maintaining discipline, providing for on-the-job training and administering other production and personnel functions.
Specific Duties:
1) Schedule work and labor for assigned cells.
2) Ensure that KPI targets for assigned cells are met or exceeded.
3) Drive continuous improvement using Policy Deployment cascade and kaizen principles.
4) Follow Leader Standard work, including Gemba walks, and use it to coach team leaders and operators.
5) Work with support functions to solve problems quickly and permanently.
6) Ensure that all employees receive standardized training per training and competency matrices. Identify and coach qualified trainers.
7) Supervise employees and production processes to ensure quality products are produced and customer needs are met.
8) Direct set-ups and machine repairs on shift to ensure minimal downtime.
9) Make recommendations to improve products and processes and reduce costs.
10) Maintain discipline and order in department, ensure employees are properly trained on jobs, and provide good working conditions for employees.
11) Ensure employees are trained in the safe use of production equipment, tools and safety devices.
12) Maintain and enforce all safety rules and regulations within your designated area of responsibility and throughout the facility.
13) Provide complete and timely reports as requested.
14) Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Position Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelors degree.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years experience in manufacturing. Prior Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent leadership skills. Strong computer skills.
