Operations Researcher
Serves as a team analyst in a small analysis cell responsible for developing and applying models and methods to support distribution and supply chain activities within the Department of Defense. Applies operations research, statistical, mathematical, and analytical techniques related to deployment, mobility and distribution. Techniques may include modeling, simulation, optimization, regression, and decision analysis. Consolidates data from one or more source systems, cleanses and analyzes data, and presents summary of findings. Data analysis may include complex algorithmic design solutions and the development of relational database solutions to combine data and analysis from multiple systems. The output will typically be in MS Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, MS Word, Visual Basic, Notebook or web format. Position requires strong analytical and communication skills while working in a multi-functional team environment.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Science, Economics, or Management Science with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
