Operating Unit Manager
Serves as the line of business (LOB) owner with profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for sustainment of rotary wing systems within Northrop Grumman's Technical Services sector. Responsibilities include the stand up, operation and growth of a new operating unit focused upon the integration of mission systems onto new and existing rotary wing platforms, installation of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) system modifications and upgrades, and providing contractor logistics support (CLS) in the field. Directs the pursuit, capture, and award of major new programs. Leads the development of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Upon contract award, responsible for program cost, schedule and technical performance. Acts as a senior contact for program activities and leads program review sessions with customer. The successful candidate will possess extensive business leadership and entrepreneurial skills plus a solid background as a military rotary wing operator or maintainer.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; plus 20 years of professional experience in the aerospace and defense field, including 5 years experience as an operator or maintainer of rotary wing systems; able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline; Master's Degree in Business or MBA; recent experience (i.e. within the last five years) as a military aviator and/or maintainer of rotary wing platforms; command experience in a Special Operations Forces (SOF) unit; industry P&L experience in excess of $75M sales/year; TS/SCI security clearance.
