Our experienced team focuses on the design of electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems, drawing on the power of our leading IDEAS Process Simulator and BrainWave Advanced Process Controller. We serve a wide range of industries, including pulp and paper, mining, oil sands, lime and cement, chemical, glass, and power generation and distribution.
We are currently seeking a Lead Developer - Process Simulation to join the growing team at our Decatur, GA facility!
Principal duties:
Development, enhancement, and maintenance of the IDEAS process simulation platform.
Use numerical analysis techniques and models based in transport phenomena, reaction engineering, and thermodynamics to develop dynamic and steady-state objects used in the mining, power, chemical, and pulp and paper industries.
Consult with process and R&D engineers and transfer process knowledge into a mathematical model that can be run with the IDEAS process simulator.
Provide software support to project staff.
Support business development efforts by providing clients with technical presentations and cost estimates.
Travel (up to 15%) to client site to support software and model delivery.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
M.S./PhD in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with process modeling experience (5+ years industry experience preferred).
A high level of demonstrable expertise in programming in C/C++ with focus on numerical methods and mathematical modeling of industrial processes.
Experience in process design/operations in the mining industry. Experience in other industry sectors such as pulp/paper, power or oil sands will also be viewed favorably.
Knowledge of IDEAS or any other chemical process simulator.
Excellent technical writing and technical presentation skills.
Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus, especially Spanish or Portuguese.
