NT S Analyst Systems Engineer 4\5
The National Team supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as it develops, tests, and fields an integrated Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). As a member of the Missile Defense Systems Engineering Team (MDSET) the selected engineer will perform end-to-end analysis of the BMDS, supporting the systems engineering process for the MDA. Analyses are focused on evaluation of new concepts, requirements definition and system and test verification. The selected individual will define and oversee implementation of software code to add analysis capabilities or to modify a large MATLAB based BMDS simulation and perform quantitative analyses. Responsibilities include task planning, defining and conducting analyses, documenting results in presentations and reports, coordinating with group leads, management and customers. Additional responsibilities may include: writing MATLAB code, perform analyses using high fidelity element level simulations, act as a subject matter expert on BMDS elements or analysis techniques, and/or perform team lead responsibilities. Occasional travel is required. *** THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON FUNDING, AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED, AND CANDIDATE ACCEPTANCE BY INDUSTRY PARTNER RESOURCE CONTROL BOARD. *** REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Strong understanding of modeling and simulation of systems. Experience/working knowledge of BMDS. Experience developing analytical tools and performing numerical modeling of complex systems using MATLAB. Systems Engineering analysis experience. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills of technical and programmatic data and plans. Strong systems engineering background including understanding and use of industry standard practices and procedures. Demonstrated ability to perform in a geographically distributed team environment. Engineering lead experience.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 5 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with active Top Secret clearance. *** PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Performance analysis lead engineering experience. Strong technical background in various BMDS sensors, interceptors and/or discrimination. Ballistic missile defense engineering experience, including electro-optical/infrared (EOIR) sensors, RF and IR discrimination, interceptor engagement analysis, and kill vehicle operation. Demonstrated strong coordination, organization, teaming and, communication skills. Familiarity with BMDS threat generation and selection. Systems Engineering experience of large, complex weapons systems. Technical experience working with MDA. Experience briefing senior leadership (internal and customer). PREFERRED EDUCATION: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or Physics degree preferred.
