MCII Electric specializes in providing ground support equipment for military applications including mobile power generator sets for U.S. Army, Air Force, and Marine Corp applications. TANO-EDI provides automation and controls equipment for military, marine and harsh environment applications. The TANO-EDI equipment spans from subsystem controls through complete turnkey propulsion systems. NMP (formerly Nelson Marine Products) is a provider of rugged power distribution equipment for the U.S. Navy and foreign Navy applications. This equipment includes medium voltage and low voltage switchboards, load centers, power and lighting panels, and communications switchboards About Area: Job Responsibility:. During the bid phase, works closely with proposal development team to develop a cost effective proposal that meets all customer requirements for integrated propulsion and control systems. . Is part of a team that is responsible for the design, test, certification, installation and verification of integrated electric propulsion systems on board sea-going ships. . Participates in design and development of shipboard machinery plants including ships propulsion systems, Propulsion Machinery Control and Monitoring Systems, Auxiliary Controls and Electrical Distribution Systems. . Develops overall system level requirements, equipment and machinery specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, regulatory bodies compliance plans, signal lists, reports and other technical documentation required for proper system integration on-board ships. . Assists Program and Engineering Management in the development of detailed program plans and schedules to assure proper sequencing of all design efforts in meeting contract requirements. . Some travel to customer and vendor sites will be required required. Some international travel a possibility. . Physical Work Environment: Normal work is conducted in an office setting. Will also be required to support equipment commissioning and test and trials on-board ships. Job Requirements:. Bachelors Degree in Naval & Marine Engineering Preferred. (B.S.E.E or B.S.M.E with appropriate experience will be considered) . Minimum of 5 years experience in this field. . Demonstrated knowledge of ship propulsion systems, electric generation and distribution, controls, machinery, etc. . Familiarity with regulatory and statutory requirements and classifications, including ABS and U.S.C.G.. . Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with other engineers and the customer. .
