Essential Contribution and Competencies
The Mechanical Engineering Manager will play a critical role in developing and leading a talented and diverse team of mechanical engineers. The manager will provide innovative engineering in the fields of both thermal control and energy conversion, working closely with technology leaders to organize teams for research and development projects. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
Specific Duties and Competencies :
* Manage R&D projects as Principal Investigator
* Perform R&D related to thermal control and energy conversion
* Coordinate and oversee engineering tasks, including; design, computer simulation, prototyping, design and implementation of test procedures, facilities testing, data acquisition and analysis
* Guide and manage product development, including; fabrication drawings, schematics, work instructions, quality control
* Partner with Technology Leaders to create balanced and effective project teams
* Write and review proposals, final reports and technical papers
* Responsible for professional development of engineers in team/department
* Provide ongoing developmental feedback to team members, as well as formal annual performance reviews
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required
Education and Experience:
* BS in mechanical engineering required
* Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical engineering required
* Proven record of leading and developing effective engineering teams
* Must be a hands-on leader with the ability to adapt and grow with the organization
* United States Citizen

This position is located in Rockledge, Florida. Willingness to relocate to the area is required.
