Reports To: Mechanical Engineering Manager
Scope of Responsibility: The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design, engineering, project management and technical direction for new equipment projects; and for evaluation, cost estimates and repairs for aftermarket projects in support of DuPont's proprietary alkylation and hydroprocessing technologies.
Key Areas of Responsibility: 1. Provide technical management for new equipment projects, including project tracking, inspections, document control, and coordination of supplier activities throughout the project. 2. Review specific project requirements and assist with preparing technical aspects of Equipment Sales Agreements. Work with design teams on DuPont proprietary equipment, including high pressure, high temperature reactors, pumps, and auxiliary piping and peripheral components. 3. Coordinate supplier activities on equipment projects, including the design, scope, schedule, quality, and technical issues. 4. Provide technical management and on-site support for DuPont's IsoTherming® hydroprocessing technology and DuPont GES Division. 5. Provide customer support as required. 6. Manage and assist with the development of equipment design improvements, support product stewardship efforts and QA program implementation. 7. Support the Management Team to establish and achieve annual goals and objectives.

Requirements: * Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is desired; however, any engineering discipline with relevant experience would be considered. * The incumbent must demonstrate initiative in dealing with customers and achieving goals and possess good oral and written communication skills.
Job Location: After training period 1 year, this position may spend up to 20% of time traveling nationally or internationally. The remainder of time is spent in an office environment in Leawood, KS.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related refinery experience with high temperature / high pressure reactors and/or rotating equipment is desirable. Familiarity with ASME Section VIII Division 1 and Division 2 codes is a plus.
