Mechanical Engineer, Product Support
Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.
As an integral part of the Sullair Engineering and Technology team, the successful candidate will lead the product support team through product and process enhancements to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities include, trouble shooting and analysis of issues that arise during the testing and operating of the compressor packages and/or pneumatic tools.
Develop, review and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
Ability to work with the BOM's and Engineering change systems.
Participate in the cross-functional teams of Technicians, Engineers, Product Managers, Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, and others in developing BOM's design etc. for engineered orders, cost reduction projects and resolution of field issues.
Capture applicable functional process turn-backs and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in the product support processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: BS degree required
EXPERIENCE: 5 years of working experience in an engineering/manufacturing position required

3 + years demonstrated level of technical project management skills.
Working knowledge of rotary compressor, its subsystems and supporting components. (Ex: structural frames, coolers, fans, valves, pumps, tanks, motors, diesel engines, pneumatic and electronic controls).
Knowledge of pneumatic and electrical controls and the ability to understand wiring drawings and system flow diagrams.
Working knowledge of pneumatic tools is preferred.
Actively involved with application of mechanical, fluid, thermodynamic, and heat transfer principals in the design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electro mechanical components and systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills required. Must be autonomous (self-starter) and be able to independently solve the issues.
Advanced knowledge of CAD system parts modeling, assembly and drawings packages a plus.
Adept PC skills.
Should be able to develop plans to prioritize and resolve customer issues from various sources.
Effectively communicate with teams and management to facilitate workflow and desire to continuously seek improvement of existing processes.
Lean manufacturing experience is needed.
