We are ready to make that investment in you!Summary of Position:The Mechanical Development group is responsible for the testing and development of engine systems such as: fuel, lubrication, cooling, valve train, and power cylinder for both Mercury Outboard and MerCruiser Sterndrive engines. The development engineer is accountable for all aspects of the engine test process from initial preparation of the Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R) and test engine; test execution; and data post-processing and mary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Execute system-level engine tests in both the dynamometer and field settings
* Utilize Concerto and other post-processing software packages to analyze data
* Communicate test results and recommendations to program management and design community in a clear, concise fashion using both verbal and graphical presentations
* Interact cross-functionally with technicians, design engineers, design analyst, and program managers
* Lead the development of the assigned engine system
* Create technical reports documenting development activities

* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
* 5-7 years experience or equivalentPreferred Qualifications:
* M.S. preferred, with an emphasis in engine design and development
* Familiar with the principles of system dynamic analysis for mechanical, thermal, and fluid systems
* Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
