Mechanical Design Engineer

We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.
Seeking a highly motivated mechanical design engineer within the Actuation Systems business unit. Individual must be able to multi-task and work in a team environment and adapt easily to changing needs, priorities, and projects.
Responsibilities
- Participate or lead the new product development, design and packaging of actuation system equipment (rotary/linear actuators, power drive units, gearboxes, brakes, etc)
- Customer requirements decomposition and flowdown
- Manage hardware installation requirements and changes
- Layout creation, drawing review, support of detail drafting
- Development testing support (procedures, test and result documentation)
- Documentation of design calculations and project details
- Direct customer interface for a given project assignment
- Gear/bearing design, basic stress analysis
- Perform Failure investigation and develop root cause/corrective actions with associated documentation
- Effectively communicate (written and oral) project status to management and customer
- Participate in V&V activity (procedures, testing, reports)
- Perform product support engineering tasks
Bachelor' degree in mechanical engineering
Minimum of 10 years experience preferred in mechanical design
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ARP 4754, RTCA DO-160
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Unigraphics and/or Catia
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships on all levels and ability to perform
