Mechanic / Fabricator
The Mechanic/ Fabricator is responsible to perform basic vehicle mechanical work supporting impact testing. The job will consist of basic vehicle part removal and amp. replacement. Test setups per Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and other unique development tests. Most advanced work will consist of fabricating experimental parts, test bucks and test fixtures.
Basic Qualifications
• 2 years' experience in auto service required
• Basic computer skills required
• Must possess the tools required to complete basic vehicle part removal and replacement
Preferred Qualifications
• A.A.S. degree in Auto Mechanics, Electronics or Similar Discipline
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook
• Welding experience strongly preferred
• Strong background in fabrication
• 3 years auto dealership service experience preferred
• Able to work in a team environment
• Flexible to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays
• Perform measurement with FARO Arm Measurement Tool
• Knowledge of FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards)
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Valid driver's license
