Job Code: 47128 Job Title: Mechancal Engineer City: CHIPPEWA FALLS State/Province: WI Job Description: The primary responsibilities of this engineering position are in the area of Product Design for compute server packaging. The candidate will work in a cross functional group that supports all aspects of electronics packaging. This includes design support for, sheet metal chassiss, rack level thermal management infrastructure, power distribution, printed circuit assemblies; interconnect components, and Agency compliance.
This position will support multiple server platform developments to provide time to market solutions aligned with major partners processor road maps. The candidate will be involved with the design, prototyping, testing, characterization, system analysis, and documentation across the areas indicated above. The candidate will work with internal departments and external partners.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required. 3-5 years of Experience in the field of Product Design with emphasis in the areas of electro-mechanical components, thermal management power distribution, and control system experience. Demonstrated abilities in sheet metal, plastics, mechanisms, statics, dynamics, and tolerancing. Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with many levels and functional areas of the organization.
Desired Skills / Attributes: Experience directing and providing technical consultation to third parties. Computer programming and/or advanced data analysis. Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5M drafting and tolerancing standards. Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation is a plus. Experience with Flotherm, Icepak, or equivalent is a plus. Experience with LabView or equivalent data acquisition systems is a plus.
