Pratt and Whitney is a world wide leader in the development and production of gas turbine engines. Systems Engineering and Validation West Palm Beach Florida site operations is responsible for the validation of development military and commercial jet engines at its multiple test facilities. These engines are subsequently produced for use in a variety of government and commercial applications, including but not limited to the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program as well as the Bombardier C-Series and Mitsubishi Jet commercial applications. Join our organization in the Measurement Systems Engineering group, performing a wide variety of technical tasks in support of measurement instrumentation and test facility readiness for engine validation programs. We have diverse openings, ranging from performance, structural and advanced measurement data recording system operation, to optical displacement probe assembly machining and fabrication, to calibration and metrology analysis of electrical, fuels and lubricants measurement test equipment. Tasks include consultation with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements, sensor installation, electrical and mechanical connection, troubleshooting and calibration of devices in a lab or at the test facility; optical probe fabrication and final assembly; test stand operations, data acquisition and recording of all instrumentation sensors utilized. Technicians will be working either in a laboratory, shop environment or on active test facilities supporting a variety of measurement systems and sensor types. These positions involve a high degree of interaction with both hourly and salaried technicians as well as engineering personnel, necessitating clear communication skills. A strong emphasis is placed on dedication, innovation and attention to detail. This organization also supports field operations across the globe. Occasional travel may be required to meet program objectives.
This position would require individuals to potentially work in a variety of environmental conditions, both inside in a laboratory, shop environment and at outdoor jet engine test facilities. Some positions entail working on outdoor elevated platforms. Occasional flexible shift assignments, overtime and travel may be required in support of global program objectives. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. As Pratt and Whitney is a government contractor, current openings are for positions that require U.S. Citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or person granted asylum in the U.S.
Location operates on three shifts, candidates may be required to work varying shifts.

Candidates will have a balance of both mechanical and electrical aptitude. Familiarity with instrumentation sensors, optical measurement probes, metrology, data systems, control logic, machining, Microsoft applications, digital signal processing or troubleshooting methodology is desired.
