The FMC acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with the Operations or Projects teams for all materials requirements. Key accountabilities . Provide safe and compliant materials management support to the operating center. . Ensure that all materials procured are in accordance with BP's quality standards, specifications and from BP's Preferred Vendor List (PVL) and Approved Vendor List (AVL). . Expedite materials and maintain awareness of material status, vendor issues/delays and proactively work with Planners to identify and understand potential delays/impacts to maintenance/project schedule. . Operate local warehouse including mastering of materials, setting and management of MRP planning factors, maintaining accurate inventory records, goods receipts, material put away, material picks, goods issues, cycle counting, return to vendor process, and warehouse organization and cleanliness. . Identify cost saving opportunities and schedule improvements by utilizing excess material, researching and presenting alternatives and substitutes to requisitioned materials and fabrication services. . Ensure all Vendor Data and Documentation Requirements (VDDR), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) called out in Work Order/PO are understood by supplier, collected and documented. . Provide detailed material status reports to Ops/Line leads as required. . Responsible for the accuracy of new item generation and data integrity. . Timely and proper materials transfer of Controllable and Non-controllable materials in compliance with Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS) guidelines. . Reconcile COPAS Controllable Material records (physical & financial) for new projects / wells in accordance with BP Materials Management Common Process (MMcp) and Houston Regions Material Control Process. . Identify excess material and equipment for disposition. . Manages materials operations in compliance with all BP HSE, government, and regulatory requirements. . Participates in company networks, sharing information, best practices and lessons learned. . Liaise with procurement team members with regards to contracts and supplier management matters. Essential Education Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience required. Essential experience and job requirements . Applicant must have 3-5 years experience in Materials Management. May include materials such as drilling, completions, operations and maintenance, production and projects. Other essential skills and knowledge . Knowledge and understanding of MM processes and MM computer systems (SAP, MAXIMO strongly preferred). . Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Operations and Project leads and planners. . Proven ability to provide excellent client service. . Excellent communications skills and ability to influence others. . Strategic commercial thinking, including the ability to develop creative solutions to business issues, evaluate solutions and recommend preferred alternatives. . Teamwork and the ability to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders. Desirable criteria & qualifications .
