Materials Area Manager
The Materials Area Manager is responsible for Material Control Floor Operations at the Toledo Assembly Complex. The candidate will utilize World Class Manufacturing tools to direct a team of 4 salary UL's and approximately 80 UAW hourly employees across BIW, Paint, and TCF. Responsibilities will include monitoring and enhancing the performance of Material Control UL's and their UAW employees on a daily basis while fostering a team environment. The Materials Area Manager will lead the salary/hourly workforce to achieve plant PC goals and uninterrupted material delivery to ensure continuous production, lead and support World Class Manufacturing implementation across all centers of TAC and lead and implement processes to achieve/exceed PCO Scorecard ponsibilities will includematerial flow, follow-up, scheduling, specifications, and bill of material to ensure daily operations are maintained. The candidate must understand and champion world class logistics initiatives using World Class Manufacturing tools.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of 5 years combined experience in both Production Control and Material Control assignments such as Follow-Up Supervisor, Scheduling Supervisor, PC Floor Supervisor, etc.
• Thorough knowledge of PC procedures and systems
• Thorough knowledge ofscheduling, engineering change, inventory control, bill of material, and shipping/receiving.
• Strong lean material flow background including VSM's and Kaizens.
• Ability to develop the growth of a combined salary and union represented team for the
support of Toledo Assembly Complex, collectively working toward achieving/exceeding plant and World Class Manufacturing goals.
Preferred Qualifications: • Advanced Degree Preferred -- Supply Chain Management/Logistics a plus
• Knowledge of material flow systems -- specifically KBIMS
• Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing Logistics methodology
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing
