Material Handling Engineer
The Material Handling Engineeris responsible for managing new model and existing platform rack programs. Work with Corporate Material Handling Engineering (CHME) to ensure quality and delivery of racks/containers on a timely basis. Maintain existing fleet of racks along with all personnel industrial vehicle equipment including Hi-Lo's, Tuggers, System Guided Vehicles and Automated Guided age container return system within the plant and eliminatecardboard. Partner with plant ergonomics and safety to establish standards which support World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required - Package Engineering or related
• Minimum of 18 months related material/production control experience and/or manufacturing supervisory experience
• Prior experience in material flow systems, design, managing, and purchasing. Experience with installation of material handling equipment such as Rack indexers, Turn tables, over/under shuttles and conveyors
Preferred Qualifications: • Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Advanced or Master's degree preferred
• Engineering degree a plus
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of plant personnel
• Must be able todevelop projects
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Must be able to work all shifts and weekends
• CAD design is a plus
