Manufacturing Process Engineer

Perform the more complex engineering analysis and review of existing or new chemical, metallurgical, or mechanical processes/equipment used in the inspection, repair, modification, overhaul, manufacture, or testing of tooling, parts, and subassemblies.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan and perform complex process work establishing process parameters and controls useful in the establishment of new or improved methods
- Consult with material, design, or project engineers concerning the suitability or producibility of engine parts, mechanical test specimens, or fixtures used in the development process. Analyze existing procedures and standards to determine effectiveness or suitability for low volume or high volume operations. Render judgments and effect change, as necessary, so as to improve overall operational effectiveness.
- Apply and transition computer technology to chemical, metallurgical, or mechanical process requirements. Develop and refine procedures for, or related to, computerized inspection, graphics, machine operation, and CAD/Cam.
- Maintain close liaison with operational and originating departments, vendors, and/or customers to analyze and resolve complex problems relating to repair, fabrication, test, inspection, or assembly procedures.
- May instruct or review the decisions of individuals or lead a team of individuals of diverse backgrounds in key analytical projects or investigations.
- Prepare, evaluate, and implement the results of various investigations and analytical meetings or reports related to quality, inspection processes, machine tool readiness, production readiness and/or cost effectiveness concerns.
- Responsible for Key Job Requirements and other tasks related to this position as assigned by cognizant management.

4+ years of engineering experience with a preference for manufacturing engineering.
This position requires candidates to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the application of continuous improvement tools: process certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Six Sigma, and set-up reduction are examples of the continuous improvement skills required.
Experience in and knowledge of machining and assembly processes, including tool application and Unigraphics is required.
