Manufacturing Process Engineer INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA JOB DUTIES: yyy Champion the development of prototype and production processes and equipment with primary development in rubber molding processes. yyy Participate as key member of APQP development teams to achieve flawless production launches. yyy Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce scrap/waste, and provide daily support to production molding operations. yyy Create and maintain accurate engineering/process documentation such as BOMs, routers, molding specifications, Process Flow diagrams, PFMEA, and operator work instructions. yyy To provide inputs to support the development of accurate and timely manufacturing processes/costs for assigned Model Cells. yyy Support planning for capital expenditures relating to future production requirements; lead projects involving new LIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: yyy A BSME, BSIE, BS CHEM ENG or similar type yyy Minimum of 5-10 years manufacturing experience in injection and transfer rubber molding. yyy Experience in: 1.) interpreting engineering drawings; 2.) transfer/injection press mechanics; 3.) tooling mechanics; 4.) rubber compound characteristics; 5.) rubber-to-metal adhesive processing yyy Good technical problem solving/analytical skills and mechanical aptitude are required. yyy Experience in advanced engineering/statistical problem solving methods is required including DOE experience. yyy Experience in PFMEA development for the automotive industry is required. yyy Competent computer skills- Microsoft Excel and Access is preferred. yyy Must exhibit good communication, project management, and interpersonal skills and, given some direction, have the ability to manage their own priorities and workload while working in a team environment.
