Manufacturing Engineer

SUMMARY:  Our client is a diversified manufacturer of various products.    They have an immediate need for a well-rounded  manufacturing/process engineer for their assembly operation  located in the Fort Wayne, IN area.


 


Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities


 



  • The Manufacturing Engineer manages implementation and improvement projects, including design, sourcing, and development from concept until final approval.

  • The Manufacturing Engineer works with tooling supplier to assure that the purchased tooling and equipment meets the required tolerances, rates and scrap.

  • The Manufacturing Engineer  participates in product approval process (APQP)

  • The Manufacturing Engineer manages Continuous improvement activities to improve output, reduce scrap, and improve safety.

  • The Manufacturing Engineer implements SPC Concepts

  • The Manufacturing Engineer creates Standard Work Procedures

  • Manufacturing Engineer Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Clients will not sponsor H1B's or transfer H1B visas.


 


 


 



Requirements:

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements


 



  • BS in technical discipline

  • Working knowledge of GD&T, SPC, and have experience implementing Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work Instrucitons.

  • 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a “Heavy Assembly" process (Semi’s, tractors, maybe automotive).

  • Ability to design fixtures and implement into assembly process.

  • 3 years experience with Lean concepts and/or Six Sigma statistical tools required.

  • Design skills with AutoCAD experience required, Solidworks or PRO-E a huge plus.

  • Metal cutting, welding, fabrication is a benefit.

  • PLC or robotics experience is a big plus
