You can be part of the only Military Module Exhaust Systems team in the world. No other company or country has this module technology in their aerospace capability. The CAN Module Center is looking for a key contributor to their Advance Coatings and Lasers Manufacturing Engineering team. You will utilize continuous improvement and Kaizen tools to reduce cycle times, set up and lead times, while improving throughput. You can be an important part of integrating product across multiple processes that feed moving assembly lines for key Module components, which is part of the highly visible Operations transformation process. Your accomplishments improving the quality of the parts produced in the business unit will be measured by reductions in scrap rework and repair and non-conformances.
Maintain close liaison with operational departments, suppliers and/or customers to analyze and resolve issues relating to advanced coating, lasers, flow test, advanced coatings, component inspection and process development. You will drive improvements in manufacturing using problem solving tools such as, RedX'e, Process Certification, and ACE. Key to the business unit is to ensure that milestone commitments are kept and that new process improvement efforts are regularly introduced based on business needs. Partner with Materials Processing Engineering, Nozzle design engineers to modify product definition or the processes as required to achieve your objectives. Apply concepts of (`cLean Manufacturing(`d by participating in Value Stream Mapping and kaizen events.
This is a high visibility position in one of the most exciting operations departments on the globe. This is a stepping stone position for people who are interested in managerial roles within operations. The ability to obtain a secret clearance is required.

5 to 7 years of engineering experience in 5-Axis laser machining, and/or hot/cold spray coatings, CAPP II and Unigraphics, Continuous Improvement and Process Certification. Candidates should be prepared to provide examples of strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and ability to delight customers.
