Our Account Manager for the East region will work out of a home office and will be responsible for generating revenue throughout NJ, DE, DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, SC and TN. The ideal candidate will be centrally located in the region. Relocation is not available for this position.
SCOPE: Perform functions to define customer requirements, provide on-site demonstrations, advocate the FARO Laser Scanner solution, generate revenues, and identify additional sales opportunities for the assigned line of the Company’s products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Generate sales revenues by performing product demonstrations at selected customer sites. Evaluate customer requirements for this purpose; including installation location, mounting requirements, customer engineering drawings, CAD data, GD&T and inspection plans. 2. Identify additional sales opportunities outside of traditional channels. 3. Utilize all available resources including sales management, Inside Sales Specialists, Applications Engineers, marketing and others to advance and close sales. 4. Work as part of the sales team to generate ideas for company sales opportunities, processes and systems. 5. Provide feedback to FARO R&D for product improvement. 6. Act as point of contact and provide technical support to potential customers during the evaluation period.
OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1. Perform or assist with any departmental operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow and meet production schedules and requirements. 2. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules. 3. Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies. 4. Recommend revisions to control documentation such as production checklists, operating procedures and policy manuals. Make and distribute authorized modifications as directed. 5. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Perform other related duties as assigned.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Various mathematical, graphic, design and database software programs, computer and peripherals, mechanical and computerized measuring and scanning devices, and standard office equipment.
Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional lifting of very light and lightweight materials, some lifting of average or heavy weight materials over 60 lbs, occasional bending, stooping and upper body & arm rotation, frequent pushing, pulling, sitting, standing and reaching and some climbing.
REQUIREMENTS: 1. 3+ yrs demonstrated successful record of selling capital equipment.
2. Demonstrated ability to identify technical problems, formulate, and demonstrate solutions.
3. Must be able to communicate and articulate technical solutions to all levels of an organization.
4. Strong interpersonal, presentation and closing skills.
6. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
STRONGLY PREFERRED: 1. Knowledge of CAD 2. Experience selling surveying or 3- D Laser scanning equipment 3. Experience in any of the following: Building Information Management, Facilities Management, Power Process and Piping, Construction Monitoring, Architectural/Heritage Preservation, Factory Optimization, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Accident Reconstruction, CAD to PART analysis. 4. Experience applying Point Cloud software solutions such as: AutoDesk products (AutoCAD), Geomagic, Polyworks, Rapidform, Cyclone, Point Tools, Inovx Reality Linx, Microstation, JRC Reconstructor, Cloudworx, Carlson Pointcloud, LFM, PDS, PDMS, AutoPlant, SmartPlant, Plant 3d
COMPENSATION AND OTHER: 1. This position has a combination of salary and commission. Conservatively a Laser Scanner Account Manager should earn $68,000 to $80,000 USD first year. Up to and over 6 figures second year. 2. Normal and customary benefits of a high-tech, international company.
