Job Description
As a member of Specialty Pharmaceuticals, this position has a lead role in the planning, training and execution of Process Excellence projects for the U.S Vaporizer business. The business will rely on this role to facilitate and sustain the implementation of Lean methodologies including continuous process improvement. This role will establish measurements and operating mechanisms to monitor progress toward the objectives of improving customer service, asset management/tracking and optimization of the installed asset base.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1. Partners with the U.S. Vaporizer Operations team and various cross-functional leads to develop a continuous process improvement culture within the Vaporizer business.
2. Uses a hypothesis driven, fact-based problem-solving approach, develops a work plan and provides direction/guidance to the members of the team to achieve results.
3. Identifies resource and functional support needs. Tracks metrics to monitor project progress and drives the team to deliver key milestones.
4. Leads and supports the implementation of value steam mapping, visual management tools, standard work procedures and other improvement activities which are aimed at reducing errors, removing non-value added activities and decreasing work queues.
5. Leads improvement and operational efficiencies of the vaporizer return process (reverse logistics) to support 3rd party medical device manufacturers' investigation and reporting requirements.
6. Develops strategy and implements project plans to support improvements in asset management including tracking of field based assets and evaluation of return on assets (ROA).
7. Ensures compliance with Baxter Quality Systems, including: Corporate Quality Manual/Procedures (CQM/CQPs), ISOtrain, Baxter Product Lifecycle Management (BPLM) and QTS/TrackWise.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Exceptional people and team leadership skills, including the ability to facilitate/manage in a matrix environment and influence external partners.
2. Process improvement methodology experience (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
3. Strong communication and the ability to effectively facilitate large groups of people in both learning and problem-solving environments.
4. Advanced problem-solving and analytic skills required. Candidate must be able to breakdown complex situations and perform analysis of complex data sets and information in order to deliver effective solutions.
5. Proven project management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively to deliver timely business results.
6. Bachelor's degree and minimum 4-6 years relevant work experience.
7. Lean Leader or Six Sigma certification.
PREFERRED
1. Healthcare or logistics/fleet operations business knowledge, including finance, sales, marketing, operations and supply chain.
2. Proficiency with the following: Excel, MS Project, MS Access and Visio.
