Role Summary/Purpose The Staff Engineer / Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities
* Execute with some guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures, and the product / program requirements

* Provide technical leadership to other personnel assigned to support the effort on assigned projects and / or tasks

* Mentor others in the organization

* Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

* Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments

* Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

* Act as a leader on specific tasks that require a broad experience base

* Generate Test Cases and Procedures to ensure system level technical requirements are met.

* Interface with external organizations and supporting functions, and directs / coordinates the efforts of project team members in order to accomplish overall goals

* Facilitate interaction of project members with each other and external organizations

* Collaborate with management in setting realistic and challenge goals

* Periodically prepare and implement supporting work plans which are considered a supplement to this guide

* Assist the staff contributor or manager in planning work activity
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing or Shop experience

* Minimum of 3 years of Direct Systems Avionics experience for multiple aircraft avionic systems including:
-Cockpit avionics
-Flight Management
-Communication Management (military & civil)
-Navigation systems (military and civil)
-Certification
-System Safety
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

* This position requires access to controlled technology. To abide by Export Compliance regulations, candidates must have either US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Alien Status.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
