In this role, you will drive the design, development, and application of BOPs (blow out preventers), stacks and control systems and other related activities. Essential Responsibilities * Design and develop BOP (blow out preventer) stacks, control systems and other related activities
* Develop new products, improve product performance, reduce product cost, maintain schedules, resolve problems and develop processes to shorten lead times
* Support customers, sales, manufacturer, field service and suppliers
* Develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities
* Ensure design compliance with regulatory authorities, relevant codes and contract
* Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET certified college or university
* At least 5 years of experience in an engineering position Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. * Ability to develop and understand schematics for subsea control systems
* Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
* Working knowledge of API, ISO, ASME, other related specifications, materials, welding, and manufacturing practices (i.e. API 6A/16A/16D/RP53/8C, DNV OS-E101, ABS CDS GUIDE)
* Knowledge of Pro-Engineer or other 3-D modeling software and ANSYS or other finite element analysis software
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
* Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
* Ability to document, plan, market and execute programs
* Ability to create technical reports and specifications
