LEAD ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN




 



Smarte Carte, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of cart, stoller, locker and massage chair rental systems and services to airports, retail and entertainment venues.    Smarte Carte, Inc. seeks a hands-on Lead Assembly Technician.


SIGNIFICANCE OF POSITION:



 


 Responsible for the repair, assembly and testing of sub components and final assemblies of electronic products according to current revisions.  Candidate will be required to function in all aspects of assembly and testing within any manufacturing cell at Smarte Carte, Inc.  60% electrical / 40% mechanical work.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


 



  • Concentration on repairing returned electronics from the field to working order.  Experience in this area is a must.
  •  Assemble and/or oversee the assembly and refurbishing of products according to the latest assembly drawings.
  •  Complete assemblies and subassemblies by scheduled date.
  •  Record serial numbers and remove components from equipment received from locations.
  • Assist with inspection of equipment returned from the field and evaluate the extent of refurbishment and new parts needed for the reassemble to latest revisions.
  • Assist in packaging of all equipment and staging for shipment to assure set-up for installation and perform quality inspections for final assemblies prior to shipment.
  • Keep the assembly, refurbishing and parts storage area clean and organized.
  • Maintain point of use inventory for each manufacturing cell.
  •  Complete job packet paperwork accurately to assure product configurations are documented accurately and inventory system count integrity is maintained.
  • Install software programs on equipment as appropriate. 
  • Observe all safety rules in the operation of tools, equipment and daily work routine.
  • Provide training for current, temporary and new employees. 
  • Assure build schedules are met and communicate all potential inventory shortage issues in a timely manner. 
  • Work successfully with the different work styles, knowledge, skill levels and abilities of others.
  • Think pro-actively and encourage others to think pro-actively.
  • Organize and maintain tools and work area.
  • Troubleshoot equipment as part of the assembly process.
  • Assist operations in fieldwork as needed.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:   


 


A high school degree or equivalent is required.  A two-year vocational degree in electrical / electromechanical repair and assembly desired.  Electronic / mechanical assembly experience is a must.      


 


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 


 


Must have the ability to travel to locations for installations (as needed).  Must have ability to us basic hand tools and good mechanical aptitude.  Must possess the physical ability to perform successfully in this position, including: visual acuity and manual dexterity to properly assemble piece parts, the ability to lift 70 lbs. to waist height and stand for extended periods of time.
