Minimum Skill Set:
Java1.6, Java Web Services development, Object Oriented Design and Development, Java IDE: e.g. Eclipse, Net Beans, WSAD, intelliJ
Experience in Java persistence framework, Caching Framework, SQL/PLSQL, Source version control, UML, Workflow Management system like Atlassian JIRA, build tools like Maven/Ant is a plus
Write clean readable code that requires little to no explanation.
Recommend improvements to code you’re maintaining.
Work on reducing technical debt, which includes changing current code to adhere to common platform and department coding standards.
Analyze and implement new technologies and determine how they can help our new and current applications.
Participate in the design phase of new applications.
Peer reviews others’ code.
Improve unit testing and increase code coverage.
Provide production support and deployment coverage.
Understand core enterprise tasks: Database Connectivity / Library execution and building (.dll, Jar) / Properties file best practices / Enterprise Logging
Conduct Code Reviews and implement/discuss more in depth coding paradigms.
Create and Maintain Documentation for application you share responsibility for, this would include wiki updates/run book updates/ and basic flow charting and documentation to show how the application works.
Work with users and clients to determine requirements and user expectations.
Coordinate with other development, data, test and management teams.
Conduct meaningful communication to management regarding issues affecting project timelines as soon as the issues arise.
Bachelor's degree or MS; and minimum 2 plus years of experience Java Development experience.
