Job Title IT Project Manager Functional Area Information Technology Division Information Technology Location Minnesota-St Paul Country United States Employment Status Full Time Job Description This position will provide hands-on leadership for Ecolab’s Ecommerce and web development initiatives. The Project Manager will provide project direction and assign tasks to team members in addition to efficiently applying their own expertise to identify and deploy significant solutions. Main Responsibilities:
* Manages the overall project development lifecycle through Ecolab’s Phase Gate project development process from planning to implementation for medium complex IT projects. Creates and maintains project plans, establishes time and cost estimates, and ensures projects are deployed within schedule, quality, and cost expectations
* Provides direction to project teams by determining and communicating skills requirements, assigning tasks, measuring and addressing performance, and managing resource utilization
* Coordinates communication plans for projects across all stakeholders, both within IT and with the customer
* Monitors project progress and maintains regular communication with the customer on status
* Manages expectations on project delivery through regular assessment of project progress and timely communication of impact to customers
* Responsible for all issues resolution within projects
* Escalation to IT leadership and Business Partners when needed
* Identifies and manages project risk
* Act as the single point of accountability to IT and Business Partners for projects within their responsibility
* Recognizes the value of a multi-industry perspective and applies best practices to create innovative solutions.
* Interfaces with all levels of management to negotiate project priorities and outcomes
* Knows the underlying needs of the business, beyond those initially expressed
* Understand and explain technical concepts/solutions based IBM Ecommerce, Portal, .Net/Java, and SQL
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree
* 8+ years of experience in an IT environment leading and implementing IT projects
* 5+ years of experience with formal Project Management methodologies and tools
* 5+ years experience with full life-cycle software development
* 3+ Years of experience with Web Development and E-commerce Projects
* 1+ Years of experience with MS Project
* Experience managing custom development projects greater than $1 million
Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrate an understanding of the business issues surrounding each project
* Demonstrate an understanding of the technical solution(s) being implemented
* PMI Certification
* Able to utilize extensive project management experience to act as the team’s primary interface between IT and the business partners
* Ability to manage project issues, conflicts, risks and deliver projects within budget and scope
* Ability to negotiate and deliver quality solutions to customers and develop process improvements where applicable
