Specific Job Description AFRICOM's Intelligence and Knowledge Development (IKD) Directorate is seeking an Intelligence Analyst and Operational Architect Specialist to assist AFRICOM in their daily intelligence and architecture operations. The incumbent will have a focus on developing and maintaining Operational Architectures in intelligence areas such as SIGINT, GOEINT/MASINT, CI/HUMINT, and General Military Intelligence. In addition, they will apply their skills to support intelligence planning, policy development and procedures. They will also help develop and analyse CONOPS, crisis plans, contingency plans, deliberate plans, campaign plans, and theater operational intelligence requirements. A primary goal for the incumbent will be identifying and documenting gaps in capabilities, with an eye on developing and proposing mitigation strategies.
Key knowledge requirements are a thorough knowledge of intelligence tools and data bases, excellent ability to conduct intelligence research and production, and having a comprehensive understanding of architecture and architecture product design. Knowledge of the Tasker Management Tool (TMT) is a big plus.
The successful candidate should understand HQ-level intelligence requirements, analysis and operations, especially as they apply to National and AFRICOM Theater intelligence policies, intelligence tasking methodologies, and have a comprehensive understanding of command, control, communications and computers (C4) intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) as it applies to intelligence operations and their underlying architecures.
Position includes, but expands beyond traditional intelligence to embrace policy development, intelligence process improvement, and process management. Successful candidate will act as an intelligence and Operational Architect for AFRICOM IKD and work independently or as part of a small team to help develop, document and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of AFRICOM IKD's intelligence and knowledge development efforts.
Successful candidate must be able to function at the Headquarters level, interact with senior leaders, and work independently or with small teams on SIGINT and intelligence related projects/working group and intelligence related activities.
Successful candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of intelligence operations as outlined above and be able to help synchronize AFRICOM's overall intelligence efforts. The successful candidate should have excellent writing and briefing skills and be comfortable making presentations to the Command's leadership (including GO/FO-SES level).
