Instrumentation Technician
The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for assignments primarily focused on the build and installation of custom instrumentation, build of instrumentation, repairing and calibrating instrumentation and test equipment throughout the scientific laboratories including Powertrain Test Lab, Emissions Lab, Aero-Thermal, NVh, etc. In addition, the technical will be working with engineers to maximize the available run time of test equipment including dynamo-meters, data acquisition systems and a variety of instruments.
Basic Qualifications:• Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent such as a vocational school
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the field of instrument, test stand/fixture build
• Ability to read and work from prints, drawings and sketches
• Strong experience in wiring fixtures, test stands, test boxes, cabling
• Soldering skills and PCB assembly experience required
• Ability to do minor fixture fabrication, drilling holes, mounting components etc.
Preferred Qualifications:• Associates degree in Electronics preferred
• 10 years or more of instrument build capability
• Experience with large installations e.g. dynomo-meter cells and climatic chambers is a plus
