Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Supervisor, the Instrumentation/Electrical Planner is responsible for the coordination of maintenance planning for the Instrumentation/Electrical department. The Instrumentation/Electrical Planner helps to ensure safety practices are adhered to, environmental compliance is met and reliability is a focus for all maintenance work through ensuring proper work practices, parts and materials for all equipment maintenance. The Instrumentation/Electrical Planner is production-oriented and self-motivated, eager to learn, very detailed, extremely accurate and schedule driven. Specific responsibilities will include: * Plan all Instrumentation/Electrical work requests and procure the necessary materials in a timely manner; * Assist Craft Supervisor in managing work order backlog size and age; * Collect feedback from complete jobs to improve plans for future; * Provide input into maintenance budget for annual and five-year plan; * Lead work order review/approval, including chairing planning meetings as needed; * Responsible for materials specifications, purchase requisitions and ensuring procured materials arrive per schedule; * Assist Craft Supervisor to determine contractor manpower and equipment requirements for base work; * Ensure plant reliability through the cost effective use of resources, materials and systems; * Develop standard job procedures and task lists for Instrumentation and Electrical groups; * Facilitate, communicate and implement continuous improvement (MOC) changes; * Plan and coordinate shutdown and turnaround work as required. Qualifications of the position include: * Grade 12 education; * Journeyman Instrument Technician, with knowledge of electrical trade and practices; * Dual ticket (I&E) an asset; * Minimum of 10 years experience in an industrial processing plant; * Knowledge of ammonia and urea processes is an asset; * Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, project planning software, and SAP); * Strong planning skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills; * Self-motivated, highly organized and demonstrated ability to work under pressure with a large and varied workload with changing priorities.
