Industrial MaintenanceTucson, AZ-based mining consulting company is seeking candidates with an engi-neering degree or heavy industrial maintenance experience to join our Maintenance Training team. This team •Writes maintenance training documentation for heavy industrial equipment, including metallurgical process plant equipment, such as jaw crushers, SAG mills, conveyors, etc., and for mobile equipment used in mining operations, such as haul trucks, drills, front-end loaders, etc. •Writes, validates, and trains clients’ maintenance personnel on mechanical/lubrication, instrumentation, and electrical preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and procedures for metallurgical process plant equipment. •Using the training materials produced, trains clients’ maintenance personnel at mining operations worldwide on the specifics of how to safely and properly maintain plant equipment in all areas of a metallurgical processing plant, or on proper maintenance techniques and procedures for various mobile equipment. •Installs computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) and trains clients to use them. •Performs maintenance training studies to assess clients’ maintenance training needs based on plant requirements and the available local labor pool. •Develops spare parts databases specific to a client’s plant to aid in ordering parts. This position is based in our Tucson office, but will require occasional travel to clients’ mine sites, including international travel. Please note that this is a writing and training position. While a background in industrial maintenance is essential, the position does not involve performing actual maintenance. The maintenance writer refers to client-supplied vendor documentation, Performance Associates’ library of maintenance materials, and his or her own practical experience to produce training material or PM procedures specific to an area of a client’s metallurgical plant or related mobile equipment. Another engineer reviews the manual for technical accuracy, and then editing staff edit the manual for grammar and style consistency before it is sent to the client for their review and comments.
Requirements:
For this position, we are looking for candidates with a B.S. in engineering or related scientific discipline, or heavy industrial maintenance experience. (Practical equivalent maintenance experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.) In addition, we prefer three to five years experience working in an actual mine, metallurgical processing plant, or industrial setting, and require excellent written communication skills. Salary is com-mensurate with experience.
