Position Description The China Concept Design Studio Senior Industrial Design lead report to the Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Director of Business Strategy and Innovation and is responsible for leading the industrial design team in China in support of the Payload Concept Center for Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA). This position is also responsible for working with university research groups looking at new concepts to enhance the customer experience of flying on our airplanes. In addition, this position is responsible for technical coordination and cooperation with the Payload Concept Center in BCA and the commercialization of research results. Job Experiences: Demonstrated ability to innovate and produce creative solutions for complex problems. Candidate must have experience in typical industrial design process, including manufacturing processes, aesthetic qualities of functional design and composition. In addition candidate should have advanced knowledge of design language principles, emerging trends, and new processes with regard to competitive product positioning and be proficient with state-of-the-art computer-based design tools including CATIA and Adobe Creative Suite. Candidate must have demonstrated organizational, communications, presentation and project management skills. Key Stakeholders: BR&TC VP, BR&TC Director of Business Strategy and Innovation and Payload Concept center leadership. Pre-requisites: Candidate must have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. An advanced degree would be considered a plus. Candidate must be able to demonstrate past experience leading a team and have demonstrated examples of innovative design work. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Proficient in Mandarin Chinese. Strong English skills, both verbal and written, desired.

Typical Education/Experience Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience.
