PRIMARY FUNCTION(S) Will act as primary resource for Human Language Technology (HLT) and machine assisted translation technologies to aid client's mission.
Responsible for researching and evaluating HLT instructional technology and operational applications (HLT technologies include: speech to speech, text to text, text to speech, Optical Character Recognition, document/media exploitation systems, language learning and testing, etc.).
Identifies and reviews developing and emerging technologies with application to client's foreign language utilization, ensure technical compliance with client's network and enterprise architecture requirements, and evaluates the functional use of technologies and tools to enhance personnel and workforce foreign language capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assists in the acquisition planning of applicable mature human language and machine translation technologies for use by client's personnel.
Attends various DoD, Intelligence Community, and commercial HLT venues, committees, and forums at the discretion of the client.
Coordinates efforts to enhance collaboration in language technology development and integration of new technologies into operational applications.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of on-going HTL developments and other language technologies available in the US government and private sector regarding foreign language training, translation, and processing.
Monitors progress development of key technologies and advises on priorities for support and funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree Requirements: BS preferred, preferably in IT related field
Must possess experience and background in information technology and human language technology.
Must possess knowledge of developing and emerging machine assisted translation technologies and understanding of principles of technology evaluation.
Must have experience in researching and using Human Language Technology, instructional development, or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in technical compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community network and enterprise architecture requirements preferred. Substantive knowledge of foreign language issues, testing and training support requirements for DoD and Intelligence Community missions.
