Hyundai Kia America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a HEV Evaluation Engineer who will:
Evaluate Hyundai and Kia vehicles during the development stage, indentify issues and recommend countermeasures to resolve issues. Evaluation will include engine start/idle/drive characteristics, transmission shift quality, powertrain performance and refinement feel and NVH characteristics.
Conduct competitive HEV benchmarking for objective measures of performance, fuel economy, acceleration and subjective measures of HEV and powertrain brand qualities.
Conduct customer-based HEV Clinics to determine customer preferences for Hyundai/Kia Powertrain calibrations and compare to competitive vehicles.
Establish HEV Powertrain brand characteristics and Powertrain tuning targets and guidelines for Hyundai/Kia models undergoing development and assist calibration engineers in meeting the targets.
Assist in planning and participate in Hyundai/Kia HEV Powertrain Test Trips to evaluate driveability and give direction for North American Market Acceptability. Trips include HATCI Engineers test driving vehicles in various temperature, altitude and traffic conditions.
Conduct investigations and perform root cause analysis of customer feedback survey results. Surveys include the Initial Quality Survey (IQS) supplied by J.D. Powers and the Customer Feedback Survey (CFS) supplied by HATCI.
Travel up to 20% of time domestically, 5% of time internationally
