In Pratt & Whitney' Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) we strive not only to exceed the expectations of our customers but also the expectations of our employees; that is the cornerstone of our strategy. CSMC is currently seeking talented and dedicated aero/thermal engineers with creativity, drive and a desire to see their ideas become a reality. CSMC offers multiple positions in the field of aero/thermal engineering where one has the opportunity to work on the next generation of commercial and military gas turbine engines.

The Aero/Thermal Engineer provides analytical design support for engine secondary flow, heat transfer, and clearance analysis for rotating and static hardware. Tasks range from conducting analytical studies, to assessing engine/rig testing data, and inspecting engine hardware to support, verify, and achieve compression systems component structural, operability, performance, cost and quality goals.

The engineer is expected to interact with other disciplines and Module Centers to properly assess compressor component thermal environment, secondary flows, anti-icing / de-icing, customer bleeds and radial clearances. These responsibilities extend through the entire life cycle of the engine program from concept, through design & development, certification, and in-service field support.

In addition, the engineer may be responsible for developing and applying advanced flow and heat transfer technology, including design tools and processes, in order to meet the technical and competitive challenges of our future engine products.

The Aero/Thermal engineer will be expected to manage the technical, financial and manpower required to successfully execute a task. Significant interaction with program management, various disciplines, suppliers and customers will be required.

Minimum of 5 years of Heat Transfer/Flow analysis experience required. Experience in gas turbine engines and Finite Element Heat Transfer modeling with ANSYS or CFD experience considered a plus.
