Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer 1\2
Position requires current SSBI/SCI security clearance.
Seeking an satellite guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) engineer with control system analysis and design understanding. The GNC engineer will be part of a team responsible for operational health and safety of the vehicle hardware and software subsystems for a 24x7 operational system. Must work well in a tight-knit team environment, and have reliable work attendance. Specific responsibilities include:
1) supporting the characterization and analysis of the various subsystems (i.e. thermal, power, ACS, etc.) for all Mission Phases;
2) diagnosing problems in the vehicle and identifying the proper factory support personnel to provide solutions to those problems;
3) supporting mission critical operations that require the presence of engineering support;
4) Support the oversight and maintenance of real-time vehicle software;
5) monitoring performance, trending spacecraft date and developing analysis tools, as required;
6) Support anomaly investigations, fault isolation and recovery activities and procedures.
Required and Desired Skills and Experience:
1) Understanding of the space/ground interaction between the ground systems and vehicle Processors (including software) is required;
2) Understanding with implementing commanding procedures to verify vehicle system state of health is required;
2) Experience in Satellite/Aerospace operations environment is desired.

Performs and documents analysis and design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems to validate or assess the system design or models. Participates in Developing solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction. Designs trade studies to meet program requirements.

Technical• GNC Design and Integration
Basic - Basic knowledge of controls, navigation and guidance methods as applied to aircraft, weapons and space vehicle design. Includes advanced education and experience with applied classical and modern control theory, system trade studies, architecture and integration, electromechanical system and equipment design and specification including management of supplier developed hardware, software and prototyping, vehicle handling and performance and pilot interfaces.

Basic - Basic ability to create system level requirements for GNC systems and allocate those requirements down to the component level. Knowledge of military specifications, government regulations, customer needs, GNC system and component capabilities, and architectures.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Position requires current SSBI/SCI security clearance or equivalent. Applicants MUST include their Security Clearance Level, Investigation Type and Investigation Date clearly on their didate must be willing to take and pass a Polygraph. Position requires on-call support after hours. Occasional overtime may be required.
