Gas Turbine Assembly TechnicianTitle: Gas Turbine Assembly Technician Location: US-TN-Chattanooga * Assembles gas turbine components following written procedures, assembly documents, test certificates and established Alstom shop practices * Operates forklifts and remote-controlled cranes, performing rigging as required to ensure personnel and product safety * Performs and documents quality checks during assembly using precision measuring tools and cleans and stores equipment and machinery in a proper manner * Analyzes assembly problems using applicable documents and initiates corrective actions * Actively upholds and participates in the company quality and EHS programs, and performs other duties as assigned * High school diploma or GED * Apprentice certificate preferred * Five (5) years of mechanical experience assembling large detailed and complex assemblies, gas or steam turbine assemblies * Capable of understanding operational requirements * Ability to interact and communicate with all levels in the organization in a team environment * Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings, instructions and quality documents * Solid knowledge of and use of precision measuring tools * Solid knowledge of rules and regulations with respect to EHS * Knowledge or training in crane rigging and heavy lift procedures * Knowledge of the metric system preferred * Some machining experience preferred * Mechanical experience on large commercial gas turbines preferred * OSHA/TOSHA safety training preferred * Demonstrated ability to adapt, be flexible, and maintain enthusiasm and focus under the demands of a fast-paced, multi-cultural, and often changing environment * Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the English language * Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the French and/or German language preferred * Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: frequent standing and walking; frequent climbing and balancing on large equipment; frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching; frequent lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.; occasional lifting or moving up to 75 lbs. * Ability to adopt and live up to the company's Core Values of Trust, Team, and Action We are looking for applicants who are smart, humble, and hungry, to join us in an exciting opportunity to start up a new manufacturing, engineering, and sourcing facility in the US.
