.:: Essential Job Duties: Under general direction of Site Manager, performs repair and maintenance activities to equipment at the ATREP IHITS facility/trailer and associated antennas, communications lines and equipment supporting operations on and around Fort Wainwright (Fairbanks) and Fort Richardson (Anchorage), AK. This system is to provide after action review capabilities, track trainees during rotations and provides for range safety. ' Sets-up, installs and initiates operation of equipment at a field installation. ' Identifies and analyzes malfunctions in operational equipment. ' Performs testing, troubleshooting and repair activities for continued operation and maintenance of equipment. ' Utilizes a variety of electronic measuring devices, test equipment, functional block diagrams to subsystem level, schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals, to rework, repair and maintain equipment. ' Maintains records and logs of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements. Consults with Company engineering personnel to determine solutions to unusual problems in system operation and maintenance. ' May provide instruction to other engineers in testing, repair and maintenance activities to obtain optimum operating performance. ' Perform other related duties as required.
.:: Mental/Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 150-pounds 3-feet vertically. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to function under rapidly changing situations and provide solutions to operational deficiencies. Ability to work in the severe arctic climate of central Alaska. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
.:: Education/Experience Requirements: Two-years college in electronics, or equivalent technical education and military experience/ experience working in a military environment. Five-years related experience. Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematics. Ability to use electronic tools and test equipment. Previous assignments include operation and maintenance of computer systems, communications systems and networks in a military environment.
