Provide E-Mail, Blackberry, and SMEPED support to the North East Regional Service
Center Exchange Team, responsible for administering and monitoring the BlackBerry user
community and associated applications across the NE RSC. Specific functions include:
? Responsible for installing, configuring and managing the Blackberry Enterprise Server
(BES) infrastructure.
Responsible for installing, configuring, and managing the Secure Mobile Environment
Portable Electronic Device (SME PED) server infrastructure.
Knowledge on how to configure, provision and troubleshoot all types of BlackBerry and
SME PED devices.
Assist with device setup, troubleshooting and end user support for high visibility
customers on and off hour issues.
Management of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange objects.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems that may be affecting the Blackberry and
SME PED devices, email account, user account, or service provider voice/data services at
the user or enterprise level.
Ability to follow established SOPs and work closely with the Operations and
Maintenance (O&M) Exchange team to identify needed changes, refinements, or
additions to current processes.
Work closely with O&M Exchange administrators to ensure system incidents are
properly recorded, followed up on, and resolutions are provided to the user community in
a timely manner.
Work with Systems Engineers to test, deploy, and support custom engineered Blackberry
Mobile Data applications and ensure they are available and meet customer requirements.
Work with mobile service providers in the escalation and tracking of enterprise level
voice and data issues.
Work as member of an O&M Exchange team to provide support on a Microsoft Active
Directory 2003/Exchange 2003 environment.
Utilize Siebel to record reported incidents, manage and prioritize work, and escalate
higher levels of support.
Participate as a member of the Exchange team in the rotational on-call pager services 24
hours a day 7 days a week to resolve Windows Exchange Operational problems working
with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support organizations.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:
? 3-5 years experience providing back office/Tier 2 support with Microsoft Exchange
(Exchange 2003, 2007, and 2010).
? Familiar with SME PED smart phone technology.
Knowledgeable in the integration of Microsoft Exchange and BBS.
Familiar with email archive systems, system monitoring tools, anti-virus products, and
anti-spam products.
Basic TCP/IP knowledge and/or understanding of DHCP, DNS, and network
monitoring/management applications a plus.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communications, effective writing and customer support skills needed.
CompTIA Security + Certfication. MCSA or MCP preferred and/or extensive Blackberry
administration experience.

One of the following Education/Experience levels is required:
1. Bachelor's degree plus 7 years experience
2. Master's degree plus 5 years experience
3. 11 years experience

Note: Successful completion of a relevant IT certification may be substituted for one year experience.
