Job Description

This position works under the direction of the ERP Business Lead.  The ERP Business Analyst III will work closely with other Intermountain business analysts, subject matter experts, and external consultants to lead system-wide transformational initiatives to significantly improve the structure and operations of each functional area including, but not limited to, business process standardization and automation leveraging the Oracle PeopleSoft and E-Business Suite ERP solutions.    

Applying business practice knowledge and Oracle PeopleSoft ERP expertise, the ERP Business Analyst III is responsible for collaborating with his/her functional team in all aspects of the ERP implementation, including planning, analysis, designing, building, testing and deploying of the ERP solution system-wide, ongoing production development and support.

Job Essentials

  1. Responsible for the planning, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, documenting  and deploying of ERP solution for the assigned functional area with little to no supervision.
  2. Mentors and may supervise other team members to develop and enhance competencies and abilities.
  3. Develops, implements, and maintains the Project Plan and other guiding documentation such as the configuration management plan, risk management plan, change control plan, status reports and communication plan.
  4. Works with business areas and project teams to assess needs for the various business functions.  Interprets policies, procedures and applicable laws and translates business functional requirements, policy, procedures and laws into technical specifications and recommends appropriate scope of requirements.
  5. Recommends policy and procedure changes to correlate with industry best practice.
  6. Identifies opportunities for improvement, standardization and consolidation in current operations.
  7. Follows standard project management methodologies. Responsible for deliverables for completeness and quality
  8. Demonstrates subject matter experience in one or more Finance or Supply Chain areas as applicable to address questions and troubleshoot problems.
  9. Expert in business process design, performing cost benefit analysis, gap fit analysis, industry analysis and trends.
  10. Performs ad-hoc queries and data analysis when required following standard practices for quality.
  11. Responsible for leading the reporting and analytical needs for each functional area
  12. Represents the project in meetings to report progress and communicate issues and risks that will impact the schedule.
  13. Resolves and/or escalates very complex issues to the appropriate level to be resolved.
  14. Responsible for the daily activities assigned by Team Lead, including, but not limited to, work prioritization, project monitoring and tracking, project schedules, project milestone and task accomplishment, risk mitigation, quality assurance and communication.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems or Supply Chain plus six or more years of applicable experience in finance systems, ERP, or other business applications -OR- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems or Supply Chain plus four or more years of professional work experience.  Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective communication of business concepts to technical and non-technical personnel and bringing order to ideas and processes
  • Experience in a role requiring proficiency at solving complex problems and demonstrated ability to think and plan on a broad level and also be able to process information and details on a tactical level
  • Experience contributing to enterprise level projects and systems
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, and e-mail and scheduling applications
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.  Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
  • Experience with hands-on application management, design, configuration, maintenance, and support for supply chain systems
  • ERP implementation experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the healthcare industry
  • Previous experience implementing a supply chain system or have been responsible for the successful implementation/evolution of an existing system
  • Professional certification such as Certified Supply Chain Professional or Certified Procurement Professional
  • Proficiency with SQL or Microsoft Access
  • Strong knowledge of product and service sourcing methodologies, project planning, and technology enablement
  • Experience with supplier base rationalization and pricing strategies
  • Detailed knowledge of strategic sourcing processes including RFI, RFP, RFQ, auctions, and reverse auctions
  • Detailed knowledge of supplier bid planning and execution including vendor selection criteria development, weighting, scoring, and bid award
  • Understanding of the integration between supplier sourcing, and business processes including contracting and procurement
