Posted Position Title Engineering Technology - Test Technician Career Level Entry-Level Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment Product Design and Development Location United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces Maryland City Baltimore Postal Code 21220-4201 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose The Engineering Technology - Test Technician fabricates, tests, machines, welds, and troubleshoots subsystems and limited production in an engineering laboratory under supervision. Essential Responsibilities * Constructing, testing, troubleshooting, machining, welding and / or modifying assemblies (mechanical, structural, and composite) and materials under direction
* Checking completed hardware or test coupons for conformance to specifications and reworks, adjusting and/or modifying as required
* Performing routine laboratory tests in accordance with test specifications
* Recording data as test progresses, observing equipment for indications of failure or malfunction, and repairing or adjusting components as required or as directed
* Preparing standard data sheet Qualifications/Requirements * Associate's Degree in Science OR a 2 year Technical / Vocational school certification
* OR
* High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years Technician experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics * Demonstrated ability to perform the above primary and secondary functions
* Understanding of schematics, assembly drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
* Ability to operate test / fabrication equipment, basic tools and measuring devices
* Ability to hand-apply spray coatings (paints, sealants, etc)
* Possess mechanical fabrication skills
* Ability to construct standard test set-ups
