BE Aerospace's Commercial Aircraft Segment is seeking energetic, self-starters for Engineering Technician positions with our Seating Products Group in Winston-Salem, NC. The Engineering Technicians is responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities such as design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype commercial aircraft seating products. This is a fully qualified crafts person with ability to acquire full knowledge of product lines and critical issues associated with them. Position responsibilities include:
* Perform static, dynamic, and cycle test activities. * Complete prototype fabrication and assembly of mechanical or electromechanical components of aircraft seating products. * Build sub-assemblies and higher level assemblies. * Support model making activities by painting (utilizing automotive type equipment), working with bondo to repair prototype components, vacuum forming plastic, welding, etc. * Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions. * Conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. * Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. * Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. * Assist in construction, test, and checkout of test equipment. * Utilize manufacturing test, development or diagnostic equipment to complete tests. * Perform other related duties as required. Job Requirements : Candidates must possess the following:
* Associate's degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or vocational/technical school and minimum of four (4) years experience. * Ability to read and interpret blue prints and bills of materials. * Must have some computer proficiency (e.g. Windows, Microsoft Office applications, email, etc.). * Demonstrated machine shop skills utilizing conventional milling machines, lathe, drill press, sheet metal fabrication with experience on CNC brake press, including programming and machine set-up. * Prefer candidates with demonstrated ability to perform testing utilizing data control and data collection system, including some understanding of Diadem analysis and reporting software. * Good verbal communication skills. * Ability to work flexible schedule and overtime occasionally as needed.
