The Engineering Manager is responsible for driving both the strategy and tactical execution of the engineering organization. This is a key leadership role for the facility and directly influences the quality of our products and processes.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership--Provide overall leadership and management direction to the site's engineering organization. Manage all engineering activities and resources to ensure that manufacturing processes, equipment, material, and techniques for each manufactured part are reliable, cost effective, and validated. Drive behavior that exhibits the highest business integrity.
EH&S--Drive safety as a number one priority. Chair or participate in at least one major site committee for Environmental, Health & Safety.
Continuous Improvement--Lead process improvement initiatives and conduct investigations including root cause analysis. Drive the engineering organization to continuous improvements metrics. Utilize processes to drive identification of critical system issues.
Quality--Foster a quality culture and lead initiatives to eliminate escapes and COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality). Integrate with Quality Department to facilitate the use of engineering processes to enhance the understanding of technical data.
Financial--Champion cost reduction and productivity initiatives. Meet or exceed all financial requirements and operational goals for the unit.
Employee Engagement--Select, train, and provide ongoing mentorship to engineers. Improve overall employee engagement by focusing on communication, training, management practices, and employee respect.
Engineering--Design and plan component repairs, tooling, and materials. Adaptation of machines and equipment to production conditions. Plan sequence of operations and specifications for the repair of parts. Partner with Business Unit Managers to ensure engineering support of production needs and on-time delivery.
This position requires US citizenship or permanent resident alien status.

Position requires:
Minimum of ten years manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in the aerospace industry. Gas turbine engine case repair experience is very beneficial.
Ability to get results and work toward aggressive deadlines.
Proven, superior people management skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement processes.
Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment using influencing and negotiating skills in a positive manner.
