MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER
My client, a world class leader in composites manufacturing, located in the vicinity of Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This position will lead continuous improvement efforts for manufacturing all processes within the plant.
Responsibilities:
Ensures best in class manufacturing processes through the development, implementation and improvement of processes such as tooling, controls, automation and equipment
Provides manufacturing insight and project deliverables to new or modified product projects
Insures timely transition into manufacturing
Works in tandem with design engineers on designs and changes to ensure DFM is incorporated into early design efforts
Develops and maintains the master production schedule for make-to-order and make-to-stock products
Works in tandem with appropriate departments to implement successful product launches
Establishes production objectives
Plans, schedules and prioritizes the shop floor
Releases and controls shop ordersand analyzes, monitors and reports production performance
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
BS Engineering
10+ years experience in a high volume Lean Manufacturing Environment
5+ years manufacturing engineering supervisory or managerial experience
Composite experience with RTM and compression molding processes
Comprehensive knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, auditing and inspection
SPC and applying statistical methods to processes
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a plus!
Ability to work in an environment in which demands and priorities change
Ability to work overtime when required
