In 2008, the Quality Organization within Chrysler became its own standalone function. Since then, the group has more than tripled in size. This growth is a testament to the commitment of Chryslers' senior management to produce a top-rated quality product. In setting high standards in the six types of quality: reliability, dissatisfaction, regulatory, perceived, performance, and service, Chrysler's product line and customer experience has improved dramatically. The teams within the Quality Organization are empowered to improve customer satisfaction for their system or area. As a result, Chrysler now has the best quality in the 73-year history of the company.

Currently we are seeking a Quality Specialist - Project Manager, Powertrain professional to join our Quality Organization at Chrysler's corporate headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This position offers the selected candidate an opportunity to be an integral part of company whose focus is to change the automotive landscape. The Quality Specialist - Project Manager, Powertrain will be the primary interface with powertrain platform teams (i.e. Product Development, Supplier, Engineering, Launch and Manufacturing) regarding all aspects of quality. The selected candidate will ensure completion to an acceptable standard, the delivery of a quality product to the customer at launch. Additionally, the project manager will serve as the conduit for transparency of high risk issues and provides creative thinking to the analysis of data and the identification of new opportunities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE ARE:

• Partner with platform management to execute new program delivery, manage resources to resolve launch quality issues and manage continuous improvement activities
• Develop program specific quality strategies using benchmark product information
• Provide an independent confirmation of the design, test, manufactured and purchased component processes
• Ensure completion to an acceptable standard to deliver a quality product to the customer at launch and is responsible for ensuring launched products exceed customer expectations as measured in the six types of quality
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Plan, prioritize, set goals and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment
• Strong communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
• Represent the ""Voice of the Customer"" to the Platform Teams

The ideal candidate must a have proven track record for developing and executing the standardization of manufacturing quality enablers. The Powertrain Quality -- Project Manager will have experience managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape and present outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must be a hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. The candidate must display a level of passion and energy and demand success. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required in a technical field (engineering, quality, technology or manufacturing discipline preferred)
• A minimum of 5 years of experience is required
• Experience in at least one of the three following areas: manufacturing, quality, engineering
• Proficient in Microsoft Software: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Experience working in a lean/flat organization with cross functional skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management or an MBA
• Supervisory experience
• Past powertrain and/or quality experience
• Manufacturing, design release and or supplier quality experience
• Knowledge of engines, transmissions and driveline components
