SUMMARY OF POSITION This position will cover a vacancy in out Dev & Test group for up to 18 months then move into a design role with an emphasis on hydraulics. ENGINEER - DEVELOPMENT & TEST Under the guidance and supervision from the senior engineering staff, plan, coordinate and work with technicians to accomplish projects involving heavy-duty vehicles test and/or development ENGINEER - DESIGN, HYDRAULICS Sill provide analytical support to new product design, component selection and/or generate complete vehicle or component layouts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering • Background in hydraulics and hydraulic design PREFERRED QUALICATIONS • 3+ years of related experience in heavy equipment o heavy mobile vehicle industry
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES - DEVELOPMENT & TEST • Assist with establishing of requirements for testing of heavy-duty vehicles and associated equipment according to the needs of the project. • Recommend what resources of equipment are necessary to accomplish the test. • Assist in formulating project estimates. • Assist in creating test plans and implementing them via communication to subordinate engineers and technicians. • Create plans for fixtures and test apparatuses and supervise their construction and development. • Coordinate, supervise and monitor progress of testing. • Recommend corrective actions needed to maintain schedule and cost targets. • Communicate the status and results of tests as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - DESIGN • Support supervisor, suppliers, engineering specialists and other departments to execute job assignments consisting of meeting specifications and performing calculations, analysis, and material and component selection. • Responsible for quality conscious design including cost, weight, reliability and ease of manufacturing. • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production build. • Utilize various state-of-the-art-engineering tools, i.e., a personal computer (PC) or (CAD) equipment, in assigned projects as applicable. • Use reasonable foresight to identify vehicle operation and maintenance risks and control them within acceptable levels. • Direct support of suppliers and test programs to include travel to off-site locations as necessary to accomplish assigned engineering programs. • Provide production support on specific truck programs. • Participate in cost studies, project time estimation, and technical proposals. • Process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, Continuous Improvement Requests (CIR), etc. ~MMTM~
