Conducts research, design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components. Designs new or modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
Basic Qualifications: Hardware engineer for development and implementation of avionics system integration and test facilities for multiple aircraft weapon systems. Position requires hands-on engineering for development and implementation of Avionics Integration and Support Facilities (AISFs). Development covers all phases of systems engineering including system and LRU analysis, COTS component definition and application, facility installation, and CAD documentation. Knowledge and application of FPGA design and VHDL programming is required. Knowledge of applicable electrical, power, environmental, and mechanical Military Standards is desired. Bachelors Degree in EE or similar technical field required. Minimum 5 years systems/hardware development & avionics experience required. Good written, verbal, and inter-personal skills required. Familiarity in DoD and corporate development and documentation standards highly desired. Experience highly desired in the following: avionics systems; radar & sensor systems; integration & test techniques; AS9100/ISO9001 processes; Linux/UNIX; interfacing protocols & devices; cockpit controls & displays, and C-130 special operations aircraft and F-15 aircraft. US citizenship and Security Clearance are required
